This life size painting was a joy to paint. The subject wanted the painting to hang over the fire place and surprise her husband when he returned from military duty in Afghanistan. He was duely impressed. It was painted exactly to her desires. It is an example of how the artist can create so much language from the subject to the viewer.
The subject loved the Tuscan color sceme and inspired the artist to learn and use it more effectively. This is the type of painting where the subject will re-experience that part of her life and enjoy it for her life time. Timeless.
